Medical Imaging
X-rays, CAT scans, MRIs are very common exhibits used in personal injury cases. Typical
uses include:
- Duplicating X-rays, making same size copies
- Photographs:
1. Back light x-ray; make copy negative which makes sharp Black and White photo either
same-sized as original x-ray, enlarged (deposition, trial) or reduced (demand letters)
2. Convert the x-ray itself into a "positive" print by reversing the x-ray
- Digital Electronic Imaging into a computer with color added to highlight areas of
interest; it is displayed by trial presentation software with an interactive light pen for
making additional highlighting
- Create a color medical illustration of what the x-ray shows (e.g. broken leg bone), and
place it side-by-side with the x-ray on an exhibit board with printed labels for details
- Use a live TV camera to capture the back-lighted x-ray image; the jury sees the x-ray on
a TV monitor or screen
